That is, if one is high datssheet the other is low. Since the 74LS has active low outputs, datazheet Y0 and Y7 outputs will never both be low at the same time. Sign up using Email and Password. I don’t think it’ll fry anything, but since s aren’t open-collector gates, if you connect two outputs together and they’re not both high or low at the same time, the output logic level will be undefined and can’t be guaranteed to be either a 1 or a zero.
Tut yes, you’re right, forgot the ’06 was inverting. Woah – that’s neat!
7404 – 7404 Hex Inverter Datasheet
If they’re not both high or low at the same time What you are doing with the two outputs is not okay. Can you explain to me why it won’t work? I didn’t know about that concept and will read up on it.
You can’t wire two outputs together like that. Thanks for mentioning open-collector.
Tying the two outputs together in this fashion is called a ” wired-or ” or ” wired-and ” depending on the polarity of the datasjeet the latter in this case, because the dataasheet of the ‘ are active low. datashset

Will that fry the N? Following is the schematic from TI’s data sheet so you can see what’s going on in there, and what logic function do you want to implement? Sounds like what I need. Is there a free web service where I can make that easily?
Will switch to use the ‘ If both outputs are 1 5V wouldn’t they combined still be 5V? It is not clear under what conditions you want to enable the Micro-Kim expansion port. You should include a truth table.
