Slow Twitch

Apr 04, Colleen Bgenna rated it it was amazing. The right amount of awkwardness and gushing, transporting you back to a teenager, those awkward first kisses, touches, heavy petting.

While Brenna is afraid it might change all the things she loves about Jake, he feels like this is something he has brebna do, get to know his biological family. Everybody is up front and honest and I love that! Slow Twitch is book number three in the Brenna Blixen series. This book has teens in sexual situations.

However, it’s in this book, finally, lbixen you accept that Jake is the one from Brenna. But choosing one wasn’t too hard for Brenna.

I couldn’t help but admire and like Brenna – her disappointments and vulnerabilities made it easy to relate to her and her gutsy bluntness, honesty and wit made her stand out in a genre swamped with shy heroines. For a book that I believe is intended to be sex-positive and blxien about physical intimacy, I found that message was muddied by some conflicting and unflattering portrayals of other characters. They are dramatic and make us fangirls fight for out teams.

Double Clutch (A Brenna Blixen Novel)

I respect that in a character. Review also posted on my brennq Likeable but brena, only in small doses please I almost put the book Hmm where to start Never before had she seemed jealous or unsure of herself. I sat debating what to do with it Then forced myself through it And now that it’s finished I’m feeling a bit happy, but only a bit It seems there is room for more books but this book lost my devotion to the series, unfortunately On to the next!

Lists with This Book. The “hook-up” scenes left me speechless!! Rebels Like Us, her latest YA novel, is full of hot kisses, angst, homesickness, and laughs that are almost as good as the ones that come from the stick of a melty ice-pop. Jake was the boy I was rooting for and I thought Saxon was a duche because he was trying to break Jake and Brenna apart almost till the very end when he suddenly changed his mind.

Jake goes to New York to meet his fathers side of the family and discovers a lot about himself. They’re both seriously cute, Saxon with his careless demeanor and how he’s attuned to Brenna’s personality, and Jake with his sweet uncertainty and absolute devotion. View all 3 comments.

Okay, back to Slow Twitch. Her mom announces that they will be going back to New York to visit Jake’s family. This was so refreshing and being inside the lads heads made me feel completely emotionally connected to the characters and the story line!!

vrenna Hopefully I am making some sense. Thank you to Liz for asking me to review this. Still, the book was cute and had a little bit more of the spark I enjoyed so much in Double Clutch.

Double Clutch (A Brenna Blixen Novel) by Liz Reinhardt – Penguin Books Australia

I love that Brenna goes on blessedly normal dates, sneaks her boyfriend into her room, and tries to be a good person in handling her attraction to these guys without being a boring old goody-goody. But these boys have there own sordid brennna which makes it harder for Brenna since she feels bilxen she’s in the middle. Apr 02, Sharon rated it it was amazing Shelves: Preview — Double Clutch by Liz Reinhardt. Jake has a lot of smooth swoon-worty moves and the things that he and Brenn explore was tasteful and sexy.

This review also appears in The Midnight Garden.

It’s not a love that’s split between good and bad, safe and dangerous, real and imaginary.
