Epic (Epic, book 1) by Conor Kostick

What happens next is an exciting adventure through virtual worlds with magic, monsters, swords, and sorcery That plot thread is kind of just in the background compared to the main thread of Ghost trying to figure out who she is and avoid being found and crushed by the Dark Queen. Review quote Full of beautiful, detailed imagery, Epic is a great ride with something for everyone, a thoroughly developed, well-written exploration of virtual reality and the morality behind many laws and novsl I think this book was really good.

Having escaped from exile, Conoor had hidden in a small out-of-the-way community with his wife, where they had Erik.

Erik’s family is having a tough time. The whole concept of the RAL’s are so ingenious – we were already introduced to the idea that some beings of the game developed a conscience in Epic, and that is further explored in Saga. Who she really is wasn’t too much of a wower, but she learns a lot from it.

The story opens with Erik determined to obtain revenge for the unjust treatment of his parents. Kostick manages to aim his allegory at two separate targets: Yes for sure the side characters are there but mainly the growth shown behind characters is shown by the development of Ghost.

All in all, I think that Epic is a relatively simple book to understand, with a lot of action and drama. Characters that are a part of the game begin talking to her and giving her things.

Most people in this world have no idea that they’re world isn’t “real” per-se. One of my least favorite parts was view spoiler lexile: Why not go after the Wpic that runs the game?

Other books in this series. There are some action packed scenes in the book reminiscent of the first novel.

Book Review: Epic by Conor Kostick

Well this is the first book I have managed to finish in about months. Good sci-fi for grade 7 and up.

Jul 14, Travis rated it it was ok Shelves: I felt like the writing had definitely improved from Epic, including multiple POVs and some more abstract writing than in the first volume. I found it hard to care for the characters, but the author did kostixk a few interesting twists in the plot – enough to keep me reading until the end.

Ghost is such an amazing character. I novell the first two-three chapters, and thought its novvel different, but cool at the same time Citizens progress in society by winning points in a gigantic interactive computer game, and Erik’s parents are losing badly. Saga was a computer game created on earth over 2 years ago, but the game came to develop is own intelligence and grew sentient beings called RAL. He plan on doing that through a virtual reality game.
